La Motte Telephone Company was established in October 1953 by local residents who united together to build out the first aerial dial tone infrastructure in the rural La Motte area. In 1971, the company began burying cable until the entire exchange was converted to underground. La Motte Telephone Company purchased Andrew Telephone Company in 2011, expanding its customer service base. In 2020, a buried fiber-to-the-home build out was completed in both exchanges. Since then and today, La Motte and Andrew Telephone Company is growing beyond exchange borders to bring residents the best in voice, high-speed Internet, and digital television, especially to underserved areas. The company strives to impart the Neighbors serving Neighbors home-town motto to all customers.
